Lunar Gazing with Southampton Astronomical Society

A unique opportunity to observe the Moon (weather permitting) through a telescope  from the top of God’s House Tower with members of Southampton Astronomical Society including a talk on the astronomical events you can see from Southampton during 2020.

The evening will begin with a talk about the astronomical events you can view from Southampton during 2020, such as eclipses, meteors, the International Space Station and how to use your smartphone so you know where to look for these events, along with the Milky Way and Planets. There will then be an opportunity to look through a telescope on the roof of God’s Tower, please note that this is not wheelchair accessible, however don’t worry. While you are waiting your turn, we will have another telescope looking at the moon and relaying its image back to the meeting area.

The event is hosted by Dr Lilian Hobbs, President of the Southampton Astronomical Society.
